Visakhapatnam: Defence Minister A.K. Antony assured Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development D. Purandeswari of all possible help for extension of watch hours and for introduction of 24-hour operations at the Visakhapatnam airport at the earliest. Ms. Purandeswari, who represents Visakhapatnam in the Lok Sabha, met the Defence Minister along with Visakha Air Travellers Association (VATA) executive board members Ch. Ramakotiah, Vishnu Kumar Raju and O. Naresh Kumar and sought his intervention for granting the manpower needed for 24/7 operations at the airport at the earliest.
Mr. Antony told the delegation that he was fully aware of the importance and urgency of the subject and he promised to ‘definitely’ extend all possible held in this regard.
