DGCA begins probe in Godhra chopper crash

Vadodara: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation ( DGCA) began investigations into the crash of the helicopter carrying spiritual leader Asaram Bapu that took place at Godhra on Wednesday. The pilot of the helicopter, meanwhile, said that the aircraft had started losing height when he started the manoeuvre to land it leading to the incident.
Officials in the Godhra police said that officials came to the crash site on Thursday and photographed the ill-fated helicopter. However, they said, a formal visit of a larger team of experts was still on cards. The area where the crash took place has been isolated by the Godhra police till investigation get over.
Officials said that they had little role in the probe other than ensuring that the crash site is disturbed and facilitating medical tests of the pilot after the incident.
