Gopal Kanda surrenders, arrested

New Delhi: Former Haryana Minister Gopal Goyal Kanda, who was absconding after being accused of abetting the suicide of his former employee and air hostess Geetika Sharma, surrendered before police in the wee hours of Saturday. He was immediately arrested.
Kanda told newspersons waiting before the Ashok Vihar police station night long that he was surrendering on his own will.
Kanda will be produced in a court Saturday and police is likely to seek his custody for questioning.
The surrender followed rejection of Kanda’s anticipatory bail plea by the Delhi High Court on Friday.
A Delhi court on Thursday issued a non-bailable warrant against Kanda.
