Have one SC/ST member on NACIL Board of Directors: Par panel

New Delhi: Taking a strong view of inadequate representation of SC and ST communities in National Aviation Company India Ltd (NACIL), a Parliamentary Panel has asked the government to nominate at least one person from the reserved category in the company's Board of Directors.
"Government should ensure that at least one SC/ST member is nominated as independent director of the Board," the Panel said in its report which was tabled in Parliament today.
Referring to the constitutional mandate, it also said the government should provide reservation for appointment and promotion of officers in higher scale so that SC/ST officers could also get an opportunity to become functional directors of NACIL.
