Airports authority relaxes deadline for Patna airport till October 31

Patna: In a big relief to the Bihar government, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has allowed operations of large aircraft such as Airbus 320 and Boeing 737 from Patna airport till October 31, an official said on Tuesday.
The AAI had earlier set an August 16 deadline on the operations of these aircraft from the airport.
The authority first extended the date till August 31, then changed it to September 19 and now October 31.
"For the third time in the last one-and-half months, the AAI has deferred till October last the effective date of implementation of its order, reducing the runway length of the airport," said an official of the state government dealing with civil av'iation.
