CAG lens on DMRC for Airport Express failure

New Delhi: As the blamegame continues between Reliance Infra (RInfra) and the DMRC over the now-stalled Rs5,700-crore Airport Express Line, the Comptroller & Auditor General of India has decided to audit the DMRC-constructed project.
Incidentally, this is not the first time that the DMRC has come on the CAG radar. In 2009, the auditor had slammed the Delhi Metro for scaling down quality control practices and testing requirements in at least four metro contracts - in some cases at the behest of the contractors because they were running behind schedule.
Sources in the Union Urban Development Ministry told The Pioneer that the unexpected closure of the Airport Express Corridor has prompted the CAG to look into the details related to the project.
