Develop virtual labs, protect aviators: APJ Abdul Kalam

Emphasising to bring technology to protect the man behind the machine, former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam said that efforts should be made to ensure that aviators are protected as and how equipment are modernised.
Delivering the Subroto Mukerjee memorial oration at Indian Society of Aerospace Medicine (ISAM) the former scientific advisor to the defence minister said that all efforts should be taken to develop virtual laboratories.
The labs, he said would help monitor the health of pilots as the length of sorties had increased.
Earlier, vice-chief of Indian Air Force (IAF), Air Marshal DC Kumaria said that the IAF had already flown over 10 hours in a Sukhoi- 30 MKI and nearly 15 hours in the C-I30J super Hercules aircraft.
