DVOR 45 days old, but yet to start

Ludhiana: It has been over a month and a half since the Sahnewal Airport got the DVOR equipment, but its presence hasn't made a difference yet, as the equipment has not started functioning. The pilots still do not get any help from the equipment, which is supposed to navigate the landing and take off during the times of low visibility.
The airport had got the DVOR after a long hassle of over a year, during which residents faced a lot of inconvenience, due to regular cancellation of flights.
Airport manager V P Jain says they are waiting for Airport Authority of India (AAI) head office to provide the instrument approach landing procedure. a??Once the head office provides the procedure, the navigational equipment will soon be functional, he adds.
