Geetika case: Police want to visit Dubai

New Delhi: The investigation into the suicide of Geetika Sharma will now take cops to Dubai. A Delhi Police team headed by an ACP rank officer and including a woman officer, will go there once permission is granted.
Delhi Police has also sent a Letters Rogatory (LR), a judicial request, through the ministry of home affairs, seeking information about the case from Dubai authorities, said a source.
LRs are used to obtain judicial assistance from a foreign country. A brief synopsis of the case, including identification details of both parties with briefs defining the nature of claim and relief sought along with the kind of assistance required to enable the Dubai authorities to understand the issues involved, has been included in the LR, sources said.
