Proposal for renaming Dibrugarh Airport after Bhupen Hazarika

Sadiya: Union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh on Saturday said he would submit a proposal for renaming the Dibrugarh Airport and Dhola-Sadia bridge in Assam after legendary music maestro Bhupen Hazarika.
Attending the central function in Assam at his birth place Sadiya to observe Hazarika's 86th birthday, Ramesh said he would submit a proposal to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for renaming the airport after Hazarika.
The minister will also submit another proposal to the Prime Minister for naming after the singer-lyricist the 9.8 km Dhola-Sadia bridge over river Brahmaputra, touted to be the longest bridge in the country.
