Silver worth Rs 6 lakh seized at airport

The Customs officials at the international airport here seized 10 kilograms of silver worth `6 lakh from the baggage of a passenger on Thursday. Faisal Babu, a native of Palakkad, was taken into custody.
According to Customs officials, he arrived at the airport in an Air India flight from Dubai. Smuggled silver was screened during Customs checking. The silver was hidden in three bags. A case has been charged against Faisal for attempt to smuggle silver without paying the duty. He was released after quizzing.
