They conquer the skies

Putting an aircraft in operation, taking over the controls of its wide-spread ailerons, keeping in sync with the radio tower below with a radar is a Herculean task. But it was a glorifying start on Monday morning for the cadets of the 4th Air Squadron Prabhneet Kaur, Alka Sharma, Rahul Shukla and Davinder Pal Singh who took to the skies with a flying experience at the Sahnewal Airport.
Prabhneet, 18, who studies engineering at GNE College, exclaimed joyfully how they came to know only some days ago about them being shortlisted for flying. We waited for this moment eagerly, she said. This was a maiden voyage for Prabhneet, who was off the ground for nearly half an hour. This was extraordinary. I shall never forget the moment, she said. Sharing her thoughts further, Prabhneet hopes to join the Indian Air Force one day and is already getting on with her preparations to accomplish her dream.
