His airline may be teetering at the precipice, but Vijay Mallya can’t seem to let go of hubris, and his ‘Kingfisher model’.
The chairman of battered Kingfisher Airlines says there will be renewed focus on — hold your breath — the premium segment, and, just in case you doubt, insists the carrier “is here to stay”.
And how does he plan win in times when rivals are flying the other way?
By looking at regaining domestic market share after expected policy changes come about, by focussing on the full-service segment, he said in the company’s annual report.
After haemorrhaging market share last fiscal, the airline says it’s reworking strategies including on international routes.
