Airport project denies link with member of 'political family'

Thiruvananthapuram:  Refuting allegations against Aranmula airport project in Kerala, the KGS group that promotes the Rs 2000-crore enterprise today denied charges by some political quarters that a member of a prominent political family had a stake in it which helped it to get clearances.
"The allegation that a member of a prominent political family has interest in the project is baseless and the aim of those making such charges is to gain publicity," a release by KGS Aranmula International Airport Company said today.
   BJP in the state had alleged that some Congress leaders have been showing undue interest in the project and wondered if it was due to the interest of this family member.
"Earlier, there were efforts to link the project with 2G spectrum scam. Those who made that charge had said some political leaders from Tamil Nadu were behind the project.
