All schedules restored, Air India tells High Court

Air India on Friday submitted before the Kerala High Court that it had restored all the services that were cancelled between September 17 and 28, and that operations are in full swing.
Air India made the submission on a petition filed by the Centre for Non-resident Indians and Returnees (CNIR) vice-chairman Remila Sukhdev against the recent cancellation of flights by Air India.
According to the petitioner, passengers to various destinations in West Asia had to face severe hardships because of the sudden cancellations of flights by Air India without prior notice. The action of Air India in cancelling the flights was to help certain private airlines and politicians, the petitioner alleged.
The reason for the cancellation was to arrange flights for Hajj pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh, the state from where the Civil Aviation Minister hailed, the petitioner argued.
Air India submitted that the cancellation of the flights, if at all it occurs, is owing to reasons beyond its control.
