The Civil Aviation Ministry and the Airports Authority of India on Thursday came under scrutiny of a Parliamentary panel whose members questioned them about Delhi airport's operator using development fee levied on passengers being used to bridge its financial gap.
Top officials of Civil Aviation Ministry and AAI appeared before the Public Accounts Committee on CAG's report on Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The auditor's report tabled in Parliament recently had criticised the levy of Development Fee (DF) on passengers. CAG had also charged Civil Aviation Ministry with violating the bid conditions for the benefit of DIAL to the tune of over Rs3,415 crore and pressed for fixing of responsibility.
