Hyderabad: The noose is tightening with every passing day for Vijay Mallya.
The Kingfisher Airlines promoter, along with four colleagues including CEO Sanjay Agarwal, were served non- bailable warrants (NBW) by a Hyderabad court on Friday after Mallya and others failed to appear in a cheque bouncing case filed by GMR, the infrastructure major.
The case is posted for further hearing on November 5.The court has also issued warrants against the airline, its CEO Sanjay Agarwal and three other directors. According to sources, Mallya is currently abroad and his arrest would be imminent if the warrants are properly executed. “The warrants have to be returned by the next hearing (November 5),” the source said.
The GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL), a subsidiary of GMR Infra, had earlier filed a petition in the court after a cheque worth Rs10.5 crore returned unpaid.
