Chennai: While it took only 70 minutes for Robert D’Silva to travel from Colombo to Chennai, it took almost two hours for him to get out of the airport as he was waiting for his baggage.
“I had to spend more time collecting my luggage than it took me to reach Chennai from Colombo,” said Mr D’Silva adding that though his flight reached Chennai at around 1.15 am, he got his baggage at 2.50 am.
In-bound international travellers into Chennai airport are irked with the unnecessarily long wait for their baggage. Passengers complain that it takes more than an hour to collect their belongings while it takes usually 10-15 minutes in airports in other countries.
