Kingfisher Airlines goes back on promise to pay staffers’ salary dues

Mumbai: Hopes of several Kingfisher Airlines employees were dashed as the carrier did not pay the May salary outstanding before Diwali, as it had promised earlier.
Negotiations for the dues were held between the airline CEO and employees, following which they resumed work. The CEO had reportedly promised to clear three months' salary dues before Diwali. "We were expecting to be paid salary for May, but we received was an email from our executive vice-president wishing us a prosperous Diwali," said a Kingfisher employee on Tuesday.
Last month, the airline employees received salaries for March and April. While Kingfisher employees may not have much to cheer about this Diwali, the airline chairman, who has been silent on the salary front, on Tuesday tweeted: "Happy Deepavali. May Goddess Lakshmi shower you with wealth, good health and happiness."
