SIT arrests man from IGI airport in Moga passport scam

Moga: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the 2008 Moga passport scam have arrested a man from Indira Gandhi International Airport at Delhi on the charges of making his passport on the basis of forged documents.
The accused, identified as Hardev Singh Dhaliwal, a resident of Kishangarh village in Moga, was nabbed from IGI on Tuesday night, Surjit Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police, Moga, said today.
A lookout notice had also been issued against the accused two years back, he said.
Dhaliwal, who returned from the United States Tuesday, was detained at the airport by the authorities who then alerted the Moga police.
"The SIT rushed to Delhi, arrested the accused and brought him to Moga yesterday. We have secured his remand (from a court) for further investigations," he said.
