Gurgaon: The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has conveyed its in-principle consent to the project site of a cargo airport in Haryana after carrying out a preliminary site visit and pre-feasibility study.
The application was filed with the Union ministry of civil aviation for site clearance. The ministry of defence has issued the requisite NOC to the ministry of civil aviation and now the case is being processed by the ministry of Civil Aviation, said Haryana chief secretary P K Chaudhery on Saturday.
A site measuring 2,700 acres has been identified for the project in Rohtak. Chaudhery also said that the Mass Rapid Transit System from Gurgaon to Bawal would be implemented through an SPV, to be floated jointly by Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation, an agency of the state government and (Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor) DMIC Trust/DMICDC.
