As part of the Operationalisation of the Air India Express (AIE) headquarters here, 20 staff, including Deputy Chief of Operations, Captain Alok Naik and Deputy Chief of Flight safety Captain R P Singh, joined their duties today.
The Deputy Chief of Operations will ensure availability of pilots in all airports, especially in South India, while Deputy chief of Flight safety will see that all statutory requirements in terms of flight safety as compiled by the DGCA and inhouse instructions are obeyed and executed, AIE officials told reporters here.
In a week's time, AIE will advertise for the post of CEO, who will be based here and will oversee the entire operations of the budget airlines and report directly to the Chairman Air India, they said.
Manager (Marketing) K M Kurien, who also took charge today, will hold discussions with leading travel agents in the Kerala and Mangalore belt and get feedback in terms of timings, schedules and frequencies of flights and accordingly the 2013 summer schedule of AIE will be designed.
