Aviation minister tells AI to expand network


New Delhi:  Aviation minister Ajit Singh has directed Air India to expand its network using the brand new Boeing 787 Dreamliners and further prune positioning of staff abroad to reduce the Rs 404 crore gap in revenue and expenditure every month. Singh did a detailed review of the airline on Thursday and asked it to "think out of the box" to increase the average monthly revenue of Rs 1,348, crore while reducing monthly expenditure of Rs 1,752 crore.
AI currently has three Dreamliners and plans to use the next few planes on the London/Paris, Shanghai routes and launch flights to Australia.
