Centre seeks 50 acres of land for civilian enclave at Bamrauli airport


Allahabad: In the wake of increasing demand for better air facility in the city, the Union Minister of Civil Aviation Ajit Singh has written to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to transfer 50 acres of land to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for developing a civilian enclave for handling civilian operations at Bamrauli airport in the city.
According to an official statement issued by the ministry in New Delhi on Thursday, Singh has said in the letter that the AAI has already carried out a preliminary study of the surroundings towards the south side of the existing airfield. The airfield is currently being used by the Indian Air Force (IAF). Singh said in the letter that the matter has been discussed with the IAF also.
