Mumbai: Concerned about the safety of passengers, especially foreign travellers arriving at the airport, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) stepped up security and arrested 127 touts in the past six months. They were laterhanded over to the police.
Passengers are often harassed by touts who try and force them to take up their suggested accommodation, sightseeing options and transportation.
SP Melvian, DIG, CISF (Western region), said, “Most touts were held after passengers complained about them. CISF personnel also keep an eye on such touts.”
