Denied flight, woman dies of heart attack

Indore: A woman died of cardiac arrest at Indore airport after she was denied to board a flight in the absence of required medical certificate on Friday night.
Shehnaz Bi, 40 , a resident of Dewas, was scheduled to board a flight of Indigo Airlines (436-E) for Bangaluru via Nagpur from Indore at 6.50 pm on November 30.
As she was a cardiac patient, Shehnaz was taken to airport on a wheel chair. When her family members took her to tarmac, authorities of Indigo Airlines asked for mandatory "fit to fly" certificate. She was denied boarding flight in the absence of certificate.
Vineet Recriwal, caretakers of media affairs for Indigo Airlines based at Gurgaon, told DNA that a ticket for Bangaluru was booked in the name of Shehnaz at 3.22 pm for flight no 436-E from Indore in the evening on same day.
Since Shehnaz did not have "fit to fly" certificate from a registered doctor, she was not allowed to board the flight, he added.
