Mumbai air passengers prefer mobile ticket booking


Mumbai: Mumbai airport apparently has a high percentage of passengers who are active on social media sites as compared to other airports in the world. A global survey carried out across six international airports found that 86% passengers in Mumbai were active on social media sites, despite India having a social media penetration of only 5%.
Other than Mumbai, major hubs in Sao Paulo, Frankfurt, Atlanta, Abu Dhabi and Beijing were included in the survey. "On an average, across these six airports, 62% air passengers were found to be active on social media sites, which is higher than the general population in most regions,'' said the survey. In the case of Sao Paulo, 71% passengers said they were active on social media sites, compared to 28% among the general population of Brazil.
