Mumbai: Two take-offs and a landing had to be aborted at the Mumbai airport last week after the Air Traffic Control (ATC) gave the go-ahead to the three aircraft “simultaneously”, it emerged on Thursday.
Indigo’s flight to Singapore and Jet Airways’ flight to Delhi were cleared for take-off around 9.07 am on December 30, even as an incoming Jet plane was just 500 feet above the runway.
Details about the “chaos on the runway”, which put the lives of more than 250 passengers at risk, emerged after Mirror reported a near-miss involving two flights on Tuesday night.
