Chandigarh/Bhathinda: Inclement weather conditions marked by intense cold wave and denge fog prevailed in the region Tuesday, putting life out of gear in Punjab and its neighbouring states.
Air and rail traffic to Chandigarh on Tuesday continued to be affected by heavy early morning fog with around half-a-dozen trains to Chandigarh railway station and an equal number of flights to and from Chandigarh airport were either heavily delayed or cancelled.
On Tuesday, flight carriers like Jet Airways and JetKonnect cancelled their morning flights from Mumbai and afternoon flights to New Delhi in view of heavy fog at New Delhi airport. Also, GoAir cancelled its morning and afternoon flights to and from Chandigarh. Apart from this, SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Chandigarh was delayed by around onehour and 10 minutes.
