Dabolim airport won't shut: Parrikar

Vasco:  While justifying the Mopa airport project, chief minister Manohar Parrikar said Vascoites should not have any apprehensions over the continuation of Dabolim airport.
Addressing a public meeting as part of the 'Jansampark Abhiyan' in the port town of Vasco, Parrikar assured Vascoites that Dabolim will also co-exist and operate with better facilities with a new terminal building.
He also said that a parking facility for 1,500 vehicles would be created.
Stating that the Dabolim airport has reached a saturation point, he said "If Goa doesn't come up with Mopa airport, then the neighbouring state, Maharashtra, is all set to build one," he said.
