Kingfisher Airline's flying permit expired on Monday but the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) renewed its maintenance and engineering licence. Sumit Jha of CNBC-TV18 reports on what this means for the airline and if it changes anything for the airline.
On Monday, Kingfisher Airlines had two licenses up for renewal. One was for the flying permit and the other was for the maintenance department of the airline. DGCA could not renew the flying permit because of the want of a solid revival plan. The maintenance certificate or the licence has been renewed by the regulator. What that means is that Kingfisher Airlines' (KFA) engineers can now certify aircrafts of its airworthiness.
