Bhubaneswar: The BijuPatnaik airport authorities are going to stage a mock drill for emergency evacuation soon. The practice is done as per the guidelines of director general of civil aviation (DGCA).
The exercise will be carried out sometime this week, said airport sources. "Since the mock drill is a full-scale emergency exercise, we don't reveal the date and time or else the agencies to be involved will get ready for the occasion. They need to tackle the emergency as and when needed," said an airport official. He said more than 100 personnel would be involved in the exercise.
Capital and Apollo hospitals, Orissa disaster management authority (OSDMA), Orissa fire services and airport fire services will take part in the exercise apart from nine other agencies.
