Man makes hoax call to ground friend at airport


Mumbai:  Fearing that his friend would fly off to Guwahati without paying him Rs 3 lakh, a travel agent made a hoax call to the airport, saying there would a blast there between 7pm and 9pm on Monday. The crime branch arrested Kabir Jamrumiyan Hussain (38) and who made the hoax call. Hussain was booked him under the IT Act along with the Suppression of Unlawful Act Against Safety of Civil Aviation. He will be produced in court on Wednesday.
After receiving the call around 7pm, the airport authorities immediately informed the police. A search was carried out at the airport, but nothing was found. "A complaint was filed at the airport police station and the crime branch started a parallel probe. Based on specific information, we nabbed Hussain,'' said Dipak Patangre, senior inspector of crime branch unit 8.
