Mysore Airport back in business


Mysore: The tourist hub got back its air connectivity on Monday brining good tidings this MakaraSankranti.
At 1.03 pm, the inaugural SpiceJet flight from Chennai arrived at the Mysore Airport via Bangalore putting the tourist city back in the loop of Tier-II cities with air connectivity. The 17 passengers who arrived at the workable airport were greeted to traditional music along with traditional ellu-bella, a preparation of sesame and jaggery, distributed during Sankranti.
While the inbound passengers at the 78-seater Bombardier Q400 aircraft were a tad less, 27 passengers flew out of Mysore. Of the passengers three took flight for their onward journey to Delhi and a couple from Mysore opted to fly to Bangalore to reach Kuwait. Among the passengers was Andhra Pradesh minister C Ramachandraiah who took air route to reach Bangalore, the Mysore Airport director C Manjunath said.
