Mysore airport to take wings again, stakeholders want change in flight schedule

Mysore: Air connectivity will be restored to the tourist hub. That is good news. Not so good news is the flights schedule, which the stakeholders said, is not custom made for the travelers.
After 14 months, the commercial flights will start operations from January 14 with a private operator agreeing to kickstart the air operations from Mysore. Ahead of it, the senior executives are visiting the Mysore facility on Thursday and holding discussion with officials of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the district administration. The commercial flights will resume from Mysore from January 14 with direct flight between Mysore and Bangalore, the Mysore Airport chief C Manjunath said. As per the initial plan, the flights will operate three days in a week, he told TOI. "We'll discuss about the flight plan with the air operator," he stated.
While the resumption of the air operations is welcomed, the stakeholders are not impressed with the flight schedule. We are getting enquiries and traffic is bound to pick up, B S Prashanth of the Mysore Travel Agents Association said.
