Unauthorised mobile towers stall Hubli airport expansion

Hubli: The authorities, who are upgrading the Hubli airport, now find it difficult to shift the mobile towers which have come up nearby.
According to sources at Hubli airport, there are four mobile towers which are a major obstacle to development work. Interestingly, nobody has an idea who gave permission for the construction of these towers. There was no information or any documentation either with the district administration, HDMC or HDUDA, about permission to private companies to set up their towers, K M Basavaraj, Hubli airport director, told TOI.
People should seek a No-Objection Certificate from the airport authority if they want to raise the height of their buildings, install any tower or do other developmental works within a 10-km radius of the airport.
