Chennai: Immigration authorities at the Chennai airport nabbed a 19-year-old youth on Friday on charges of using a fake passport to fly out of the country.
Deva Vinod had arrived at the international terminal, cleared the security check and was on his way to board a flight to Italy when immigration authorities, who had been on a high alert, found his passport to be fake. He was handed over to the Meenambakam police who arrested him. He was later remanded in judicial custody.
Earlier this week, four Sri Lankan nationals were arrested by police in Puducherry for preparing forged travel documents.
