Aero India: 750 cops to man route

Bengaluru: As many as 750 traffic policemen have been roped in for traffic management during the five-day Aero India 2013 starting February 6 at the Yelahanka Air Force Station. Both the traffic police and officials from the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) are now busy with road repairs and planning diversions.
M.A. Saleem, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) said that the police will divert the airport-going traffic on Hennur Road to Bagalur Cross to reduce congestion for the air show bound traffic.
“Especially on the last two days of the air show we are expecting heavy congestion and we have made diversions all along Bellary Road. Designated parking places have been identified before the airfield and bus services between the parking venue and the air show venue will be arranged by the government,” Saleem said.
