Airports Authority of India union dispute lands in court

Nagpur:  Airports Authority Employees Union (AAEU) has won the 2013 union elections to be the official representatives of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) employees for next five years. Their victory has been marred by a rival union that approached Delhi High Court challenging the elections and claiming majority.
The AAEU was declared a winner after postal ballots were opened and the final tally showed a lead of 166 votes on Friday. The official results have been published on their website. The Indian Airport Kamgar Union (IAKU) has challenged this. After the results were declared other unions, including AAI Karmachari Union, Airports Authority Majdoor Sangh, Rashtriya Shoshit Kamgar Union etc pledged their support to IAKU taking their tally past that of AAEU by 47 votes.
