Mumbai: To avoid any further delay in the Navi Mumbai international airport project, Cidco plans to approach the Centre-appointed project monitoring and implementation committee (PMIC) to relax the condition of initiating the bidding process (by issuing the request for quotation) only after sorting out land settlement and rehabilitation for those affected by the project.
Cidco managing director Tanaji Satre said the agency will soon approach the PMIC, scheduled to meet next week to review the progress of the project work. Cidco is yet to acquire 291 hectares of private land for the airport project, which will be spread over 2,020 hectares.
