Greenfield airports to come up in 6 cities


Hyderabad:  The state government is all set to finalise the AP Civil Aviation Policy 2012 with an intention to provide air connectivity between tier-II cities by developing regional airports under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
To begin with, the infrastructure and investment department has identified six cities for developing new greenfield airports in Nizamabad, Nellore, Kurnool, Ramagundam, Tadepalligudem, and Kothagudem.
The Infrastructure Corporation of AP (INCAP) sought the views of various departments like municipal administration and urban development (MA&UD) department on the draft policy prepared by the Administrative Staff College of India. Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy is likely to review the AP Civil Aviation Policy and finalise it on Tuesday.
