Rajahmundry: As part of the plans to expand the Rajahmundry airport located at Madhurapudi, the revenue authorities may acquire 657 acres land soon.
Revenue divisional officer M. Venugopal Reddy said here on Monday that the Airport Authority of India had suggested for acquisition of 657 acres land for expansion of the airport to facilitate night landing and to provide other amenities for the benefit of the air passengers.
Accordingly, the revenue authorities submitted a report to the state government under the new provisions for land acquisition and the experts in the field would take a final decision on the land acquisition.
