Paper proposals hold up air link

Ludhiana: Even as residents wait for improvement in air travel from the city, proposals to upgrade the Sahnewal Airport remain on paper. Now that both the Union and state government are going to announce their budgets, residents hope infrastructure at the airport.
Rajesh Kalra, an industrialist from Sant Fateh Singh Nagar said, "For many years, the air link from the city has been the biggest problem faced by industrialists, despite the fact that they are making a major contribution to the state and national exchequer. We expect the Union and state government to focus on improving the air connectivity of this industrial city for the benefit the industry".
