Pay a part of dues and get NOC: AAI tells Kingfisher

New Delhi: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has indicated that it may allow Kingfisher Airlines to fly if the carrier clears around Rs 117 crore of the total Rs 390 crore it owes to the Authority.
"The airline had given us cheques to clear the dues of Rs 117 crore, which bounced. If they clear the Rs 117 crore and provide us guarantees for the rest of the money, we may allow them to fly," said AAI chairman VP Aggarwal.
He further added that AAI is asking a firm
commitment on clearing the outstandings, as the airline has not been able to honour most commitments made in the past. "Though there is news that they are planning to restart operations, there has not been any concrete proposal to us for dilution of our dues," he added.
