Bhubaneswar: Heavy fog at Biju Patnaik airport here forced a Port Blair-bound via Bhubaneswar Air India flight to return to Kolkata early on Saturday morning. The flight was coming from Delhi, sources said. The flight took off after two hours when visibly increased.
Sources at the airport said the visibility was merely 20 to 30 metres due to heavy fog. "As per schedule, the flight should have landed in Bhubaneswar at 6.30 am. It returned to Kolkata for safe landing. There was two-hour delay as the flight again took off at Kolkata for Port Blair," said an air traffic control official here.
