Air India staffers' passport case: Maharashtra, cyber cops get notices

Mumbai: The Bombay high court on Wednesday issued notices to the state government and cyber police on a petition filed by two Air India cabin crew members seeking compensation for the illegal impounding of their passports.
The duo claimed Rs 14.26 lakh and Rs 5.50 lakh as loss of flying dues for seven months.
A division bench of Justice P V Hardas and Justice A R Joshi was hearing a petition by K V J Rao and Mayank Sharma, who were arrested on May 11, 2012. They were booked under the IT Act for allegedly posting blogs on social networking sites criticizing politicians, the prime minister's office, the Supreme Court and insulted the national flag. The sessions court released the two AI staffers on bail on May 22, 2012, and five months later, the HC directed that their passports be released.
