BirsaMunda New terminal takes off on Tuesday

Ranchi: The experience of flying from BirsaMunda Airport will change from March 26 - two days after the Union civil aviation minister inaugurates it - when the Airports Authority of India (AAI) will shift the all operations to the new world-class integrated terminal building.
Over 200 staff are working hard on last minute preparations. Union rural development minister Jairam Ramesh and Jharkhand governor Syed Ahmed will be among the guests at the inauguration ceremony. Vinay Kumar Choubey, deputy commissioner-Ranchi, also inspected the new terminal building on Thursday evening.
Automatic doors will replace the old manual doors. A space frame structure with insulated roof will replace the false ceiling, which had earlier collapsed due to heavy rain. The old terminal building will be used for cargo and other official work.
