Brand new airport but slips are already showing

Kolkata:  If crumbling glass panels weren't scary enough, a ceiling light fixture came undone at the city's new integrated airport terminal a couple of days ago, trigerring concerns over air safety.
Airline and airport staff also raised questions about the quality of workmanship in the construction of the mammoth building.
According to airport sources, a portion of a light fixture attached to the ceiling of the glass-and-steel integrated terminal came loose and fell nearly 30ft to the floor of the departure lounge. Luckily, it landed on an empty section of the terminal floor and no one was injured. The area has since been cordoned off.
"Had it struck anyone, it could have caused serious injury or even turned fatal," said an airline staff.
