Chennai: The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will conduct a safety assessment of the new baggage ramp at Chennai airport on Thursday.
While AAI said that a fourth trial of the ramp was successful on Monday, airlines said they would wait for the DGCA report before starting operation. But airlines said they were not aware of any such trial.
"Since we are the stakeholders going to use the ramp, we should be consulted. What's the point in conducting a trial without informing airlines? We will wait for the DGCA safety assessment", asked an airline official.
