Bhopal: For pilot Ritu Yadav, her career took off after her marriage, literally. Currently the only licenced thermal airship pilot in India, she attributes all her success to her husband Col Mukesh Yadav.
Ritu (33) is currently in the state capital to participate in the on-going Bhoj Adventure Fest till March 17. She is the only pilot of all the hot air-balloons being operated there twice daily.
"The hot air balloon falls under lighter than air category. Currently my sister-in-law and I are the only two private licenced pilots in India from the director general civil aviation's (DGCA) office. Whatever I am today is because of my husband and her," said this mother of a nine-year old.
Hailing from an army background, Ritu was an NCC cadet and an avid sportsperson. After her marriage, her husband Mukesh and sister-in-law Anita goaded her into taking this up as a full time hobby and profession.
